My Childhood
There is a lot to say about my childhood. I'm the only girl and youngest child out of two children for Dereck and Winifred. I have an older brother, 27, Irwin. We did not grow up together. My dad worked with the government, so he traveled a lot. I didn't know him until I was 10 years old. My mom was a teacher for many years. She left Guyana, her native country on a teaching scholarship to study in the U.S. I was only 2 years old at that time. I lived with my father's family until I was 10. My brother lived with other family so we didn't see each other too often. I was reunited with both of my parents at the age of 10.
Growing up with family was tough. I didn't get the attention and love I wanted from my parents. I was teased in school many times because the children knew my parents was away. I grew up to be a tough kid and I learned to defend myself in battle. I worked hard to get where I am today and I am proud of myself.
I have always been an independant person, ever since I became legal to have my first job. At the age of 14, I became a counselor for summer camp kids. I dealt with spoiled kids that did not know the value of a dollar. I learned that at a early age because I was not spoiled and I was not given special privledges. I worked hard to established every thing I have today and I came a long way, but I have a lot more to accomplish.
